Episode 10 | Kasey Koop

We’re joined by comedian, author, and stripper Kasey Koop this week to tell us how she became a sex worker, how she got sober, and how she balances the two.  Fair warning: we talk a lot about sex, porn, masturbation, and all that good stuff? it gets a bit graphic.  But we also get super deep and fairly dark, discussing fears, addiction, self sabotage, and hitting rock bottom emotionally.

Check out her podcast, Kasey’s Freek Show!

By the way, if you have any questions about sobriety or think you might have a problem with drugs or alcohol, PLEASE reach out to us. We are not professionals, but would be more than happy to share our experiences with you on an individual basis and help you find support in your local area.

Episode 8 | Ijeoma Oluo

This week we brought in writer and speaker Ijeoma Oluo to make us SUPER uncomfortable.  She brings up so many amazing points about systemic white supremacy and really challenges us to look at our role in society.  Are we doing everything we can to stop it?  Or are we living comfortably and quietly benefiting from it?  If you’re a white, cis-male, be warned… you’re going to be confronted with some ugly truths.

But we don’t stop there!  She also shares with us her fears at the mother of male children of color, what it’s like growing up as the only black kid in school, mixed race privilege, and we also tackle a very touchy question about transphobia.

Ijeoma is a phenomenal writer and you should absolutely pre-order her book, So You Want to Talk About Race!

You can also pick up The Badass Feminist Coloring Book!!

And follow her on Twitter!

Episode 6 | Lindy West

This week we had the utter privilege of being joined by the celebrated American author and badass feminist Lindy West!  She brought so much great stuff to the show!  Big themes are body image, fat shaming (the president), using our position to defend those with smaller voices, the responsibilities of social media, and the time Andy brought a gun to Lindy’s house.

There’s also a great VulnerabiliBuddies and Lindy teaches us that a woman’s only job in life is to be sexually attractive!

Check her out at LindyWest.net and buy her book Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman!!!  Buy like ten of them!!
